Built in 1982, Mirage is a true one-off design.   Typical of fiberglass boat construction a mold is built to form the hull and deck components.  In a one-off, these molds are destroyed after the one boat is constructed.  No cookie cutter boat this one.  Estimates place Mirage's original cost in 1982 at over 1/2 million dollars!!

"S" type uni-directional glass without mat was laid in with vinylester resin. Glass to resin saturation exceeds 50%.  The hull and deck have built in longitudinal stringers, closely spaced for strengthening and stiffness.  The deck is 1/4 inch marine plywood encapsulated in fiberglass.
